ന്യൂദല്ഹി: ശശി തരൂര് എംപിയുടെ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് ആരെയും അമ്പരപ്പിക്കുന്നതാണ്. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കഠിനമായ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് ഭാഷ പ്രയോഗങ്ങള്ക്ക് ആരാധകരും വിമര്ശകരുമുണ്ട്. ഇതില് വിമര്ശിച്ചവരെ അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ കഠിന ഭാഷ പ്രയോഗത്തിലൂടെ തന്നെയാണ് വിമര്ശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.
‘എന്റെ ആശയം പ്രകടിപ്പിക്കാന് യോജിച്ച വാക്കുകളാണ് ഞാന് തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്നത്. അല്ലാതെ മേനി നടിക്കാനോ നിഗൂഢത സൃഷ്ടിക്കാനോ അല്ല’ എന്നാണ് പുതിയ ട്വീറ്റ്. ഈ ട്വീറ്റില് മേനി നടിക്കാല്ലെന്ന് പറയാന് ഉപയോഗിച്ച rodomontade എന്ന വാക്കാണ് ഇത്തവണ ആളുകളെ വലച്ചത്. ഈ വാക്കിന് ഒക്സ്ഫോര്ഡ് ഡിക്ഷണറി നല്കുന്ന അര്ഥം ആത്മപ്രശംസ എന്നാണ്.
To all the well-meaning folks who send me parodies of my supposed speaking/writing style: The purpose of speaking or writing is to communicate w/ precision. I choose my words because they are the best ones for the idea i want to convey, not the most obscure or rodomontade ones!
