ന്യൂദൽഹി: കാർഗിൽ വിജയ ദിവസത്തിൽ പ്രധാന നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി യുദ്ധത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുത്ത ധീര ജവാന്മാർക്ക് അഭിവാദ്യമർപ്പിച്ചു. ജീവൻ വെടിഞ്ഞ സൈനികർക്ക് ആദരാജ്ഞലികൾ അർപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു
‘കാർഗിൽ യുദ്ധത്തിൽ അവസാനം ശ്വാസം വരെ ധീരതയോടെ പോരാടിയ എല്ലാ സൈനികർക്കും മുൻപിലും തന്റെ ശിരസ് കുനിച്ച് പ്രണാമം അർപ്പിക്കുന്നു, അവരുടെ ധീരത നമുക്ക് എപ്പോഴും പ്രചോദനമാണ്’ – പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ട്വിറ്റർ സന്ദേശത്തിൽ പറഞ്ഞു. 1999ൽ കാർഗിലിലെ അതിർത്തിയിൽ നുഴഞ്ഞ് കയറിയവരെ തുരത്തിയോടിച്ച സൈനികരുടെ ധൈര്യത്തെ ഭാരതത്തിന് ഒരിക്കലും മറക്കാനാകില്ലെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം കൂട്ടിച്ചേർത്തു.
ആ കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ എൻഡിഎ നേതൃത്വത്തിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന വാജ്പെയി സർക്കാരിനെയും അദ്ദേഹം അഭിനന്ദിച്ചു. യുദ്ധ സമയത്തും ഭരണത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന കൃത്യതയും കാർഗിൽ വിജയത്തിന് സഹായകമായെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ ട്വിറ്ററിൽ കുറിച്ചു.
