വിദേശരാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുള്ള പണം കൈമാറുന്നതിന് സാങ്കേതിക വിദ്യയുടെ പിൻബലത്തോടെ നിരവധി സംവിധാനങ്ങൾ നിലവിലുണ്ട്. എന്നാൽ ഒരു രാജ്യം തദ്ദേശീയമായി വികസിപ്പിച്ച ധനകൈമാറ്റ സംവിധാനം എന്ന നിലയിൽ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ യു പി ഐ – Unified Payments Interface ന്റെ സ്വീകാര്യത വർദ്ധിച്ചു വരുന്നു.
ഇതിൽ ഒരു ചുവട് കൂടി മുന്നോട്ട് വെച്ച് ഇന്ത്യയുടെ യു പി ഐയും സിംഗപൂരിന്റെ പേ നൗവും കൈകോർത്തതോടെ മൊബൈൽ നമ്പർ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് ഇനി പണം കൈമാറാൻ സാധിക്കും.
2014 മുതൽ യു പി ഐ വഴിയുള്ള ഡിജിറ്റൽ ഇടപാടുകൾ ആഗോളതലത്തിൽ വർദ്ധിച്ചു വരികയാണ്. നിലവിൽ ആഗോളതലത്തിൽ 40 ശതമാനം തത്സമയ പണമിടപാടുകളാണ് യു പി ഐ വഴി നടക്കുന്നത്. സ്റ്റേറ്റ് ഓഫ് ദി ആർട്ട് ടെക്നോളജി ഉപയോഗിച്ച് പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന യു പി ഐയിലൂടെ വളരെ സുരക്ഷിതമായി വേഗത്തിൽ പണം കൈമാറാൻ സാധിക്കുന്നു. ചെറിയ തുകയും കൈമാറാൻ സാധിക്കും എന്നതാണ് യു പി ഐയുടെ പ്രത്യേകത.
മൊബൈൽ നമ്പർ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് പണം അയയ്ക്കാനും സ്വീകരിക്കാനും വികസിപ്പിച്ച സംവിധാനമാണ് സിംഗപൂരിന്റെ പേ നൗ. 2018 ലാണ് യുപിഐ, റൂപെ, ഭീം തുടങ്ങിയവ സിംഗപ്പൂരിൽ ലഭ്യമാക്കാനുള്ള കരാറിൽ ഇന്ത്യയും സിംഗപ്പൂരും ഒപ്പുവെച്ചത്. പേ നൗ സിംഗപ്പൂരുമായി സഹകരിക്കുന്നതോടെ ഇരുരാജ്യങ്ങളിലേയും ജനങ്ങൾക്ക് കുറഞ്ഞ ചെലവിൽ പണം തത്സമയം കൈമാറാനാകും.
റിസർവ്വ് ബാങ്ക് ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യയും മോണിറ്ററി അതോറിട്ടി ഓഫ് സിംഗപ്പൂരും ചേർന്നാണ് ഇത് നടപ്പിലാക്കുന്നത്.

The linkage of these two payment systems would enable residents of both countries in faster and cost-efficient transfer of cross-border remittances. It will also help the Indian diaspora in Singapore, especially migrant workers and students through instantaneous and low cost transfer of money from Singapore to India and vice-versa.
